Rare Grimoire Pixel Art Timelapse
Drawing a pixel art piece of Frieren encountering a mimic in a dungeon.
Decided to pixel Frieren checking for a rare grimoire, which 99% of the time turns out to be a mimic. I really enjoyed the first season of the anime and have watched it several times over! I wasn't necessarily going to animate this piece, but then decided to in the end, because it's amusing to me to watch it on a loop xD
This was drawn in a semi-isometric style, but doesn't actually follow an isometric grid correctly, so I wouldn't class it as actually isometric. You can also see several parts where this is a pain during rendering later n_n;
Pixel Art Details
- 15 colours used, excluding transparency
- Canvas size is 152 x 193 px.
- Drawn and animated in Aseprite over the span of several days! About 4.5h total.
The animation took me a while (even if it's still slightly janky) and I left it half done for at least a week before actually sitting down to finish it ^w^; Soooo I don't have a recording of that.
